šŸƒā€ā™‚ļø 5 Actionable Tips to Design Your Dream Life (After 50)

Hey there my freedom seeking friend!

If youā€™re reading this, the chances are youā€™re already dreaming of a life full of travel, freedom, and flexibility.

The question is, how do you turn that dream into reality?

Whether you're already on the road or still planning your great escape, here are five actionable steps to help you create the lifestyle you've always wanted.

1. Clarify Your Dreams

Itā€™s easy to feel stuck if your dreams are too vague. Start by making a list of everything you dream about, no matter how big or small.

  • Want to travel the world full-time?

  • Launch a business from your laptop?

  • Live in a beach hut for six months a year?

Write it all down.

Action Step: Identify your top 1-3 goals. Look at your list and ask yourself, ā€œWhat are the dreams that, if I achieved them, would have the biggest impact on my freedom and happiness?ā€ Rate each dream from 1 to 10 and pick your top one to three. These are your new goals to focus on.

2. Map Out Your 5 Major Moves

Now that youā€™ve got your top goals, itā€™s time to work out how to achieve them. Most big goals only require five major moves. This idea, from Brendon Burchardā€™s ā€˜High Performance Habitsā€™, helps simplify the process.

Look at others who have achieved what you want. What were their five biggest moves? Now, ask yourself, what are the five major actions you need to take to get closer to your goals?

Action Step: Write down the five biggest moves you can make to achieve each of your top goals. These should be specific and connected actions that move the needle.

For example, if your goal is to generate $5k a month to achieve location independence, your five moves might include;

  1. Picking a niche

  2. Launching an Etsy store

  3. Creating your first set of products

  4. Setting up your marketing plan

  5. Building an email list

Each move takes you one step closer to your key goal.

3. Take Massive Action, Even if You Only Have an Hour a Day

Time is often our biggest hurdle, but even if you only have one hour a day, you can work towards those five moves.

The key is to focus on one move at a time and dedicate what time you have to progress. Little by little, those hours will add up to big results.

Action Step: Pick one of your five major moves and dedicate minimum one hour a day to working on it. Whether itā€™s creating content, designing a new product, or setting up adverts, use that hour to push your move forward.

NB - Do not use your focus hour(s) to plan - do that over a glass of vino in front of the TV - your focus hour(s) are for making s**t happen!

4. Make Your ā€˜Goal Achievingā€™ Time Non-Negotiable

Dreams donā€™t come true through inspiration alone. They require boring, repetitive, often mundane actions that you commit to day in, day out.

Whether itā€™s lifting weights to get fitter, writing every day to grow your business, or creating products for your online store, these daily focus hours are non-negotiable. No excuses, no skipping.

Action Step: Use the '2-minute rule' from James Clearā€™s Atomic Habits. Start by committing to just two minutes of your task to build the habit. For example, if you want to write every day, start by writing for two minutes.

Once you're in motion, you're likely to continue. The key is consistency over intensity. Choose your daily non-negotiable actions, however small, and make them part of your routine until they become automatic.

5. Find a Community That Supports Your Vision

No one thrives in isolation, especially when trying to create a life of freedom. Surround yourself with people who not only share your vision but champion your efforts.

Whether itā€™s an online group, a mastermind, or a nomad meetup, these connections will motivate you, hold you accountable, and celebrate your wins.

Action Step: Find a community of like-minded souls. Join a group, engage with others, and make sure you have people around you who support your journey and push you to keep moving forward.

šŸ’Ŗ Getting (or Staying) Fit & Strong While Travelling

After my recent trips that involved climbing endless steps to beautiful churches and hiking through forests, I realised just how important it is to stay fit and strong, especially with arthritis in my knees. I want to keep doing everything I loveā€”exploring new places, hiking, and staying active on my travelsā€”without feeling held back.

Here are 3 non-negotiable exercises Iā€™ve decided to add to my daily routine moving forward;

Bodyweight Squats (or Chair Squats for Knee Support): These are great for building leg strength, especially if, like me, you need to be mindful of your knees. Start with a few reps a day and increase as you feel stronger.

Plank Hold: This is perfect for strengthening your core and improving balance, which is essential for staying injury-free on the road. All you need is a flat surface and 30-60 seconds a day.

Yoga Stretches: Iā€™m a huge fan of Yoga with Adriene (sheā€™s my fave!), and her routines are perfect for travel. A simple 5-minute stretch each day helps with flexibility and mobility, which can really help after long travel days.

If, like me, you need to add some daily strength and movement into your routine, then these exercises are quick, require no equipment, and consistency is key. Just like with business, small daily habits add up to big results over time!

ā¤ļø A Tribute to Kerwin Rae

This week, the world lost an incredible force in the entrepreneurial space - Kerwin Rae.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kerwin many years ago in my early days online, and even then, he was a true force of nature. His energy, drive, and relentless passion for helping others succeed were infectious.

Kerwin had a unique way of making you feel empowered, like you could achieve anything you set your mind to. But behind all that he was also just a super nice guy and dedicated Dad.

Kerwin lived by the philosophy of going after your dreams, encouraging everyone around him to design their dream life and take action towards it. His lessons are timeless and will continue to guide entrepreneurs for years to come.

So in honor of Kerwin, letā€™s channel that mindset and make our dreams happen, no matter the challenges.

You can watch some of his incredibly inspiring talks here;

My heart goes out to his family, friends, and everyone whoā€™s had the privilege of learning from him. Rest in peace, Kerwin. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the lives you touched. ā¤ļø
