đŸ€« 6 Silent Saboteurs of Solopreneur Success

Hey There Nomad!

As a seasoned digital nomad and entrepreneur, I've seen and experienced many promising ventures falter due to internal barriers we create from our own experiences and belief systems.

Here are 6 silent killers that can derail even the most talented solopreneurs:

1. The Comparison Trap: Measuring your chapter 1 against someone else's chapter 20

2. The Shiny Object Syndrome: Chasing every new idea, mastering none

3. Analysis Paralysis: Endlessly tweaking, never launching

4. The Failure Phobia: Letting 'what ifs' keep you from 'what could be'

5. The Echo Chamber Effect: Isolating yourself from diverse perspectives and support

5. The "Who's Going to Listen to Me?" Story: Battling imposter syndrome

But fear not! Here's how I've learned to overcome these sneaky saboteurs:

  1. Focus on how far you've come, not how far you have to go: Measure yourself against yourself, not others - that's how you write your own success story.

  2. F-follow, O-one C-course, U-until, S-successful (as my Dad used to say). Commit to one path for at least 3 - 6 months before re-evaluating.

  3. Embrace the 'MVP' mindset: Launch your Minimum Viable Product and improve as you go.

  4. Adopt a scientist's mindset: Every 'failure' is just data for your next experiment.

  5. Cultivate your 'business tribe': Surround yourself with mentors, peers, and supporters.

  6. Build your credibility bank: Start small, deliver value consistently, and let your work speak for itself. Each positive interaction or successful project is a deposit in your expertise account.

I've grappled with each of these challenges on my journey over the years (and still do some of them). The most important thing is to act in spite of them.

You’re not alone in having these thoughts. Your outcome is determined by whether you act anyway or let them stop you going for your dreams. đŸ€©

📝 Side Hustle Highlight

Free Eprintables Workshop đŸ’»

If you’re looking for a side hustle you can run from anywhere in the world and that has minimal startup investment this workshop could be what you’re looking for.

You don’t need any prior experience and it’s one of the most passive side hustles out there.

Any guesses?

It’s selling printables.

Printables are digital files that you make using free programs on your computer and that you can sell on sites like Etsy. Think checklists, planners, invitations, kids games, labels, and more.

Here’s an example:

People are selling designs like these and making hundreds or thousands each month.

In fact, my friends over at Gold City Ventures have been doing this for 5+ years đŸ€—!

And this week, they’re hosting a free live workshop on "How Emily Made $375K on Etsy in Two Years".

In this info-packed workshop, Cody & Emily cover a lot of ground.

You’ll learn:

  • How to pick the best printables to sell on Etsy

  • The power of keyword research and SEO

  • Cody & Emily’s most profitable strategies for selling printables

  • How to take advantage of different holidays and trends

  • & how to reach your online business goals

Cody & Emily also share case studies of other printable sellers who are earning 5 or 6 figures with this side hustle - and how you can follow in their footsteps.

Every successful Etsy seller started at zero.

If you have no idea where to start, I highly recommend checking out this free workshop.

If you want to skip the workshop and jump right into their excellent training, their E-Printables course is open for enrollment until next Monday.

In the E-Printables Course, you’ll learn the exact systems and strategies for setting up an Etsy shop of your own.

It even includes 30+ done-for-you Canva templates so that you can get your shop up even faster and start making sales.

Plus, you’ll get listing image templates for every product too so you can post them on Etsy faster. I love time savers!

The E-Printables Course will only be open for enrollment until Monday, September 30th at Midnight ET.

 đŸ‡ČđŸ‡œ Adios Mexico!

I’m sitting in the lounge of the Premier Inn at Gatwick as I write this having just returned from our Cancun expedition.

Our last week was an exciting (and busy) one as we celebrated Mexican Independence Day with the locals in Cancun Centro and then on canal boats with Mariachi Bands, dancers & music.

Xoximilco - Mexican Floating Fiesta in Cancun

We also did a fantastic self guided speedboat tour through the mangroves followed by some snorkelling & more underwater statues. (I’m obsessed with the underwater museum).

We had an amazing day visiting Chichén Itzå, an ancient Mayan city dating back to 600AD, plus had a swim in a refreshing cenote, a natural sink hole formed by meteors that struck some 60 million years ago! (Did you know Yucatån is the site of the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs?!)

And then finished off the last night at the famous Coco Bongo nightclub & show, which was a like a mini Cirque Du Soleil, with songs, dances, pyrotechnics & and lot of tequila!

Sssssmokin'!

Coco Bongo

To be honest I’m exhausted!

So we have one more week in the UK and then as my newsletter hits your inboxes next week I’ll be on route to Toulouse in France. đŸ‡«đŸ‡·
