And now for something different...

help me to help you..

Happy Sunday!

A slight deviation from my normal Sunday email this week as I’m super invested in ensuring you get a weekly newsletter that’s so valuable (and uplifting) that you look forward to receiving it each week.

I know that’s hard to achieve in todays mass of information. I myself get hundreds of emails, many of which I don’t even open. But with your help I’m certain we can make this newsletter a dose of true inspiration in your inbox each week!

So today I was hoping we could have some interactive fun and I can get a better idea of what piques your interest!

Below are 5 styles of newsletter with a short explanation of each.

Please look through them and then vote for the style you like the most in the voting panel at the bottom.

I realise that there are many factors such as who the creator is, what the topic is, etc, but don’t overthink it, just instinctively vote for the style that tends to resonate more with you than others.

Then, if you’re really up for playing full out, please click on the link under the voting panel to take part in a super quick survey about you, to help me get a better understanding of where you are on your journey and what information would be of most value to you right now.

You can take part anonymously, but if you leave your name and email address, you’ll be in for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card!

I’ll explain more below, but first my regular spot of travel trivia!

Which icy place on Earth is so dry it qualifies as a desert, despite being blanketed in snow and ice?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter!

On to the newsletter challenge!

Which Newsletter Style Do You Most Enjoy Consuming?

1. Bulleted List of Interesting Info

Every Friday, Tim Ferriss shares a list of exactly 5 things he's read, tested, consumed that week, like books, gadgets, or experiments. This type of email is quick to skim, with direct links for deeper dives if something catches your eye.

Style: A fixed number of personal discoveries and experiments, neatly summarized in bulleted points for a quick overview, with opportunities to dive deeper into each topic.

2. Quotes & Questions

In his 3-2-1 format, James Clear breaks down his newsletter into 3 ideas from him, 2 quotes from others, and 1 question for the reader. It's a concise format aimed at delivering value through simplicity.

Style: A succinct, thought-provoking mix of personal reflections and engaging questions, designed to inspire and provoke thought.

3. Links Galore

Used by most big travel blogs, this style is all about headlines and links to blog posts. No fluff, just a straightforward list that lets you choose what to read in more detail on the site.

Style: Straightforward and no-nonsense, offering a selection of clickable headlines to guide you directly to what interests you most.

4. Blog Style

Seth Godin's emails are essentially his blog posts delivered daily. Each email is a standalone piece reflecting his current thoughts or insights, meaning you don’t have to visit his blog to read his content.

Style: Personal insights and daily musings delivered straight to your inbox, offering a blog-like experience in every email.

5. Mini Training Course in an Email

In his emails, each week Olly (aka - the ai :) focuses on a single topic, breaking down specific strategies and delivering them as a mini training course. It's a deep dive into one subject with actionable insights and learnings.

Style: In-depth and focused, each email is a lesson in itself, providing detailed insights and actionable steps on a specific topic.

6. Magazine Style

This is the approach I’ve been using. A mix of topics in one email, mine generally include a weekly update, trivia, business and nomadic tips, plus links to handy resources. It's like a mini-magazine covering a range of topics in each edition.

Style: A diverse and engaging blend of content, akin to a mini-magazine, with updates, tips, trivia, and resources all in one.

Trivia Answer

Antarctica!

Despite its thick ice cover, Antarctica is classified as a desert because it receives very little precipitation, averaging just 200 mm (8 inches) per year, mostly in the form of snow.

This makes it one of the driest places on Earth, meeting the criteria for a desert due to its extremely low humidity and moisture levels.

That’s All Folks
