Is AI here to replace you?

or help you thrive...

The fabulous colours of Brisbane Story Bridge - a view I never get tired of!

“AI is Here to Steal Your Business!” (Or is it?)

Hello from BrisVegas!

After a fantastic time gallivanting around New Zealand, I’m back home, knee-deep in travel planning (one of my favourite pastimes!).

Right now, I’m dreaming up an epic adventure to Uluru, via the Indian Pacific and The Ghan - two legendary train journeys on my bucket list (as is Ayers Rock/Uluru!).

Hoping I’ll have my own pic like this very soon! 😍

Plus, I have to leave Oz again in May due to my visa, so I’m looking at a week or so on the islands of Fiji! (Any and all recommendations welcome!)

While I love the open road, I also love discovering new ways to fund and sustain this lifestyle.

That’s why I popped into a free AI seminar this week, hosted by Brett McFall (a familiar name, though I couldn’t quite place the face!). His pitch was - "AI is here to replace you and steal your business!" - dramatic, yes, but it got my attention.

The seminar was insightful and packed with useful ways AI can streamline content creation and business growth. But also full of the old-school ‘Internet Marketing’ tactics that make me cringe.

His final offer was a $15K package discounted to $5K (AUD) - with lunch thrown in (a very expensive meal, if you ask me!), and the threat of being engulfed by the AI Tsunami unless you enrolled today!

I saw at least 7-10 people rush to sign up, proving that preying on fear as a tactic is unfortunately still alive and well.

But… you don’t need to pay $5K to learn how to use AI effectively.

I’m going to be exploring and testing AI tools for my business, and I’m happy to share my discoveries with you!

AI isn’t going anywhere. We can either embrace it and use it to our advantage, or (try to) ignore it and miss out on the opportunities it can offer.

So, I’m considering adding a regular AI segment to these newsletters—specifically on how we, as nomads/solopreneurs, can use it to fund, plan, and optimise our travels (and know when to unplug from it too!).

👉 What do you think? Would you like more AI insights in these newsletters? Let me know below.

Would you love to learn more about AI to help fund, plan & optimise a nomadic lifestyle?

If you have a moment, no matter if you pick Yes or No, please tell me your reason. If Yes, how do you think learning about AI can help you? If No, what’s your biggest hesitation or concern about AI? I’d love to understand your perspective! 😊

SIDE HUSTLE HIGHLIGHT

Start a Newsletter & Community

Substack Newsletters

Talking about AI, in a world where automation and tech is changing how we live and work, human connection and trust have never been more important.

People don’t just want information. They want to learn from real experiences, engage in meaningful conversations, and be part of something that feels authentic.

So, if you love sharing your knowledge and connecting with like-minded people, this could be the perfect side hustle for you!

Starting a newsletter and community allows you to turn your passions into a meaningful project—whether you’re sharing travel tips, lifestyle advice, or diving into a specific hobby. You’ll be growing an audience while building a supportive online space that truly helps others.

This week’s guide covers how to get started with free tools like Substack and Facebook Groups, making it easy to launch without upfront costs.

You’ll find:

  • Skills, investment and time required to get up and running.

  • Steps to choosing your platform, niche, & content strategy.

  • Tips for launching, growing and monetising your efforts.

While building a loyal following takes time and consistency, trust and connection are what set successful communities apart. If that sounds like your kind of side hustle, download your quick-start guide now and start creating your online space today!

NB: I personally love this business model and am thinking of honing in on this much more for my own business and future training/side hustle advice, alongside how to use AI to speed the process up.

All business models whether coaching, education or physical products can benefit from an engaged community, be it a group, an email list or even a membership. I’d love to know if this is something that interests you too?

If so please hit Yes below. (I have to put 2 options, but just click Yes if interested or keep scrolling if not!)

I'm super interested in the newsletter/community business model Jo and would love to know more!

AI INSIGHTS

AI Tools to Boost Your Content Creation

One of the biggest takeaways from the seminar I attended this week is that AI can massively speed up content creation & business growth, giving us more time to explore, unplug, and enjoy the world.

Here’s a simple system that lets you turn ONE video into multiple pieces of content:

1️⃣ Record a short video (or an interview with yourself!)
2️⃣ Use Otter.AI to transcribe it into text
3️⃣ Use ChatGPT to turn it into blog posts, social posts, or even a mini book
4️⃣ Use OpusClip to slice the video into bite-sized reels for social media

Here’s an experimental post I did with an old Make it Happen Monday video I recorded 9 years ago!

(It’s a terrible video, please don’t judge me! 😂)

I downloaded the video, got it transcribed by Otter.ai and fed it into ChatGPT to create a relevant blog post for my audience of 50+ Nomads. Here’s the result;

It’s not the best post ever written, but it’s good enough! And the whole thing took less than half an hour!

Plus, it’s attempting to use my voice and style, on a topic I have a personal opinion about, and is therefore a lot more personalised than a bog standard ChatGPT article (which you can sniff out a mile off these days).

I didn’t split this one up with OpusClip as I need to record some newer (and better) videos. But, I’ll definitely be making use of all my old videos & podcasts for fast and valuable content!

Question! What do you have lurking about on your laptop, you could quickly upload to CGPT and turn into fabulous content to help build an engaged community in your niche?

I’m also experimenting with AI chatbots for my website - to help answer travel planning questions, side hustle ideas, and more, based on my own information & teachings. Plus, I’ll be testing out new AI tools to see what’s worth using.

THIS WEEK’S TOP READS

As this has been an AI inspired newsletter edition, here’s a very relevant article!

Which country has a capital city that means ‘Good Air’ in Spanish?

This South American capital city got its name from the Spanish phrase meaning "good air" or "fair winds." It's one of the continent’s most vibrant cities, famous for tango, steak, and stunning European-inspired architecture. (Plus I’ll be backpacking through it in 2026!)

Can you name it?
